Before stepping fully into her artistic path, Heidi spent over a decade working as a conservation biologist/technician and wildland firefighter. That experience deeply shaped her relationship with the land, teaching her to see nature not only as a resource, but as a living system full of stories, textures, and quiet wisdom. Those years in the field continue to influence the spirit and materials behind her work.

Heidi’s Wildcraft art blends natural elements with thoughtful craftsmanship to create pieces that feel both grounded and meaningful. Each piece is an exploration of connection—to the earth, to personal healing, and to the small moments that often go unnoticed.

Her creative journey also reflects a deeper personal transformation. After experiencing burnout and rebuilding her life with a renewed focus on wellness, growth, and authenticity, Heidi turned toward art as a way to reconnect with herself and the world around her. Through her work, she hopes to inspire others to slow down, notice the beauty in nature, and rediscover their own resilience.

Artist Statement – Wildcraft by Heidi

Wildcraft was born from a season of rebuilding with the courage to stand rooted, weathered, and fully seen.

For much of my life, I worked in demanding environments—conservation work and wildland fire—where I witnessed both the strength and fragility of the natural world. Fire clears what is no longer sustainable. What looks like destruction often becomes the beginning of renewal.

Eventually, I found myself living through a similar cycle.

After experiencing deep burnout and losing my sense of direction, I returned to the one place that had always grounded me: nature. In the quiet details of the natural world—the texture of leaves, the resilience of plants pushing through difficult conditions, the beauty in things that most people overlook—I began to reconnect with myself.

Wildcraft grew out of that process.

My work is inspired by the raw authenticity of nature. I am drawn to the imperfect, the organic, and the naturally occurring patterns that remind us that beauty is not manufactured—it is discovered. Each piece reflects the idea that growth and healing are rarely linear. Like nature, we go through cycles of breaking down, rebuilding, and emerging stronger.

Wildcraft is not just about creating art.

It is about honoring the process of transformation.

Through my work, I hope to invite others to slow down, reconnect with the natural world, and recognize their own resilience within it.
