Mary Haffeman

Mary Hafemann is a mixed‑media textile artist based in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, with over five decades of experience in crochet and embroidery. Working under the name The Cat’s Meow, she has designed a series of charming crochet patterns, including Hattie the Donkey, Who Loves Hats, along with a collection of whimsical barnyard companions. Hafemann’s passion for traditional embroidery led her to explore slow stitching—a mindful, process‑focused approach to textile art that values intention and presence over outcome. Both slow stitching and crochet serve as deeply therapeutic creative practices for her. Mary exhibits her work at Jambalaya Arts and local vendor events, and she looks forward to sharing her love of slow stitching through upcoming workshops and community learning opportunities.
