Angela Cayne

Born in Neenah Wi. to creative parents, my life was filled with art, music and books for as long as I can remember.  (Mother was a painter and violinist and Dad a nature photographer and jazz musician.)

As a child  I spent hours playing in the woods, meadows and ponds on  Milwaukees'  (then undeveloped) west side. I collected turtles, frogs, salamanders, snakes and bugs, not only to draw and paint but to keep as pets.

When I was old enough to read my interest in nature expanded to local native american arts, crafts and ecology. (My original book of American Indian Fairy Tales, as told to W.T. Larned, still sits in my book case.)

Today I'm inspired by my early years, as well as ancient North American native art,  Modern artists like Kandinsky, Klee, Chagall, Picasso,  and of course the artists at Jambalaya Arts in Oshkosh.

I work with dyes, paints, cloth, paper and leather to create practical, primarily

wearable art. In the past I've done tie dyed  wall hangings, paper mache' decorations, and three (unfinished) canvas paintings.

I consider myself a working class artist and love the emotional and monetary response I get from my customers.
