Raven Lev

I am Raven, and my unique life experiences have shaped the equally unique art I create.
My grandmother, a formal art graduate, carried a deep passion for art that she passed down to me. Art is my familial culture and I take joy in continuing the craft for our family legacy. While I did not follow the traditional academic route, her influence awakened a creative instinct within me. Each piece is intuitively created.
I was born with Visual Snow Syndrome, a rare neurological condition, that causes my brain to process visual information in a form of constant static. I tie this into my art work through eye floaters, dots, or eyes. I appreciate that I can bring my unique experiences to my art.
My artistic talent is a gift given to me by the creator. It is one of my life's purposes to share my artistic gift with others. I want to give ample opportunity for all to enjoy and display my art in their space.
I enjoy being a giving person. Whatever you freely give will always be returned to you in one way or another. This is a belief that would greatly benefit us all to hold. Because of this belief, I display my art at Jambalaya with free items for the community to enjoy. Tips are greatly appreciated and directly funded back into materials and space needed to continue creating and displaying more art for everyone to enjoy.
On top of being an artist, I am also a spiritually inclined person. I meditate frequently, always searching for the reasons why feelings, behaviors, beliefs, and conditions appear. My artwork reflects the many phases of the spiritual awakening process. I allow my work to unfold naturally, without structure, at times, always resulting in pieces that are raw, spontaneous, and alive.
